My family's stuffing is very similar and it's my favorite part of the meal, too! I haven't been able to host for quite a few years and, like you, there have been times that I figured out a way to make a small version of the meal - just so I could have "leftovers"! :-)

What a great post and lovely memories. That's the great thing about food and certain dishes...you can identify the feel of the food with pleasant memories, times and places. I love when that happens. The recipe sounds yummy and I hope you enjoy your weekend feast. We've got tons of leftovers here (my grandmother's southern dressing recipe, sans pecans) if you're still hungry. LOL!
