This is the reason why I'm not losing weight. Okay, ONE of the reasons. :) I am completely addicted to this sandwich. It's a simple, great combination. The secret is using a braided Italian sandwich roll. It could be just as good on any other bread, but I wouldn't know, I'm a creature of habit, and always get it the same way. So, I guess the key ingredient is really a good blue cheese dressing. Blue cheese and beef go amazingly, deliciously well together.
To make the sandwich, slather plenty of thick, creamy Blue Cheese dressing on a soft braided roll, top with rare roast beef, then add whatever else you like. I go with lettuce and tomato. I pass on sliced onion, because it gets too messy when you bite in. Once assembled, grill it in a panini press until lightly browned, or toast in the oven. Either way works.
Add a pile of salty potato chips, and a wedge of pickle, and you have the ultimate lunch.
